Our Story
Imagine the soft ocean breeze dancing through the trees as voices gather in shared connection — a space created not just to stay, but to feel. Ocean Sound Guest House was born from a journey both unexpected and divinely guided. A foreign national with a longing for grounding and freedom, I first looked to Tanzania, even Zanzibar — but it was South Africa that called me home. I arrived in the Eastern Cape, not knowing a soul, and stumbled across ten wild acres of coastal land. I got lost in the bush. Overlooking the ocean, this sacred space revealed itself to me. The name “Ocean Sound” once felt too simple, too obvious — but in time, it made perfect sense. Here, the ocean speaks. Shells whisper stories on the wind. And healing sound bowls resonate with ancient frequencies long carried by the land. Africa, after all, has always known the power of sound. This house is not just a guest house. It’s a place to breathe, to stretch, to reconnect. Come for the weekends, stay for a retreat. Do nothing at all or join a yoga class, a sound bath, or a poetry circle beneath the trees. Drink herbal teas and spring water, freshly poured from copper jugs. Listen to the quiet. Paint. Swim in natural pools. Chant with the rhythm of old drums left behind by kindred spirits.
This is a place of presence, purpose, and peace, where the garden carries the memory of my mother, whose spirit I feel in the trees. I’ve spoken to her here. I’ve cried in this space. And through it all, the land holds me gently. The universe keeps sending beautiful souls to this sanctuary — including retreat leaders, healers, and seekers just like you. Whether you come to host, to rest, or to rediscover your centre, Ocean Sound is a place that welcomes you wholly.

MEET THE FOUNDER
Teresa Reynolds, a seeker turned guardian of this land, left a corporate life to answer the call of the Eastern Cape. Today, she collaborates with healers, chefs, pursuing her belief in creating spaces that nurture human connection and honouring the spirit of her late mother to keep Ocean Sounds alive with love. A visionary, teacher, and sound healer. With roots in movement, spirit, and story, Ocean Sound’s founder brings a grounded, nurturing energy to everything we offer.
